Previous versions are either copies of files and folders created by Windows Backup or copies of files and folders that Windows automatically saves as part of a restore point. The following FAQ is from Windows Help and Support.
This does not apply to local computer drives, such as your C: drive.
You can browse two weeks worth of backed up data on your department (R:) or faculty shared (S:) drives and restore older or deleted versions of this data.
